By Veronica Vidal Praeger (other events)

6 Dates Through Apr 21, 2018

ABOUT ABOUT

JOIN US SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2018

The REALITY PARTY aims to promote social change regarding underage and binge drinking, impaired driving, marijuana, prescription drug misuse, and other concerns using improvisation and interactive techniques. These methods are used to engage discussion, explore issues, and develop personal and community solutions.

Attendees will engage in a tour through a mock “teen drinking party” to become more aware and understand the very real concerns teens face.

High school volunteers from Casa Youth Shelter’s Youth Leadership Program will follow a script acting out realistic scenes and powerful events that will depict overindulgent drinking games, the relentless peer pressure and other current alcohol and drug trends. The experience is sure to be eye-opening.

Following the tour, a question-and-answer session will be conducted by local law enforcement, drug and alcohol experts, and other professionals who will discuss prevention and intervention strategies and how to best support our youth in making healthy and safe choices.

The date of the party coincides with spring break and prom season — both times of the year when many house parties occur.

In order to preserve the privacy of the homeowners, we respectfully keep the location undisclosed. Registrant will be contacted within one (1) week of event with address of exact location.
